Man putting this thing back together is so much more fun than taking it apart and cleaning all those parts.
Thanks to Whitephrog sending me that four way brake part. This forum and all the people on it have been the best resource imaginable.

Looks real nice, but I have to ask whats with the red fan?

Pat

Pat, the very early Bugeyes had a red fan. I don't know when the change to yellow occured, but I've got an original red fan for one of my cars.
Jeff

Durn, learn something all the time.

Nice work, not too long and you'll be out there driving!

The Concours Registry says "Engines between 9C/U/H101 and 9C/U/H358 were equiped with a single red metal fanblade, pully and stiffener. From engine number 9C/U/H359 onward, a four bladed fan was utilized. Some time during the 9C engine series production, the color of the fan blades and pulley changed from red to yellow. When the color change took place is not known (red fans have been observed as late as AN5/14000)."

Ahh, red two blades, yellow four blades, cool.

Jack, four blade fans can be found in red, as well as yellow.
The change from two blade to four was at engine number 359, and the yellow paint came later in production. So, a two blade fan would only be correct in red, but a four blade could be either red or yellow. Six blades were always yellow.
Jeff

Again I learn something new. Thanks Jeff.

Darn right, since way back.
