Ok. So fiddling around the car today…new new new to me. Couple cool things in my 72 TR6:

1. The windshield seems to be original.
2. Per the odometer, there is ~83K clocked on the engine.
3. The gauges are all smith except for 1 Lewis. Should I change out the Lewis for a smith? It’s on the AMP gauge.

can y’all tell me anything else about this pic? What’s the center dial?

The center dial is a rheostat for the dash lights. Most of them don’t work. I bypassed mine.

I'm pretty sure the amp gauges were LUCAS, not Smiths..so there's noting unusual about yours.
Triplex windshield ?

Amp gauge was Lucas on the 250. I think the 6 was changed to a volt meter at some point.

72 was the last year for the amp gauge...when the voltmeter replaced it..it was Smiths.

Also, many simply failed and were replaced, and many had broken cables, which didn't get replaced promptly. I don't understand this concern for "mileage" in 50+ year old cars. In a car of that age. pretty much everything has been replaced or rebuilt at one time or another, so what does "mileage" tell you about the condition? Mileage since a restoration or the last engine or transmission rebuild tells you something, but the "mileage" of the car since new tells you nothing, even if you know it with confidence.

Ok! Great little tidbits to know!

Is an odometer with 83k believable?
Sure is, my TF only had 38,000 miles on it, which really meant nothing when I got it, but it sat in a garage for over 20 + years, I totally restored it down to the last bolt and total restoration of the drive train! PJ
