it'll be even more filth if he gets them headers Jet Hot coated... and matching that up with his billet pulleys and alloy valve cover ... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif it'll be too explicit for the BCF! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Hmmmm? Looking at the pictures, any of ya'll think those old cast pedestals look out'a place. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

some what... everything else (besides the manifolds) is aluminium... looks like you need to go get some billet pedestals made to make'm match /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

The Pedestals will have to wait. Moss wants $330 for just the two outer ones. Budgets long sense been blown out'a the water.

but if he were truly "hip" it would have been pr0n... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Looks nice. What do you have planned for a heat shield between the manifold and the header? You are using TBI type injection, no?

It looks really nice, go, go, go. This last winter I had a motor built by K Pather for a SC. After you get by the sticker shock and drive it, it really is a priceless (or maybe a pricy) drive. I truley share your pain, but ain't it fun.

Actually I'm already using Moss Motor's EFI kit.

As you can see it employs the stock heat shield. But I've been thinking about using it as a template to make new one out of aluminum to make for a cleaner look.

Question about your rockers: are they the ones that have been available on ebay and did you have to do any mods to them. I have a set of them and a loud tick which I suspect might be a worn rocker arm and was considering replacing them.

Will that provide adequate heat protection?

Will that provide adequate heat protection? [/QUOTE]Don't know for sure. But I noticed that our buds over at Moss make a alumized radiant barrier for their supercharger kit (PN#150-066).

The way I look at it is anything is better than nothing and I'd wager the radiant heat from the header is less than that of the old cast manifold. Especially with the positioning of the catalytic converter mounted directly underneath. My new setup will have the cat will be located further down stream, so heat to the intake shouldn’t near as bad.

Another option is to use header tape to keep the intake to help reduce the under bonnet temps.
