More Leg Room ??

Hi All --

I'm probably asking for the impossible, but has anyone modified their Spridget to improve the leg room.

I've changed the pedal assembly. Ripped the pedal off of the floor and welded it to the "Z" bar. I think I messed it up and have another modification in mind for that (angle the pedal down more - not sure if I picked up any more space as now situated).

Anyway to move the seat back where the back "shelf" is? I always figured that this was structural (meaning no dice).

Love any comments short of amputation. Just would love around 4 - 6 more inches of leg room.

I've heard of people angling the seat a little and even making a dropped floor pan. I've seen a bashed rear shelf (ugly). However, I think you could do a proper job the relieve the corner of the self behind the seat.

I've seen photos of the dropped front portion of the floor pan. Looked like a good alternative. At 6'-3" I've considered it myself. Can't remember where I saw the photos but I'm sure it was on this or another forum.

I too saw the photos, but can't remember where.

I'm 5'9" and don't have your problem, I guess surgery on the car'd be better than surgery on you. Good luck on your prob.

I'm 5'10" and the car is perfect for me, so I can see how someone 6' + might start feeling a little cramped.

If your car has a center console, you can remove it to make room for your right knee.

Thanks all. Might need to attempt that. Maybe I'll just wait and "shrink" with time.

well I can't say it gave me more leg room, but I removed the top. Couldn't fasten it anyway and getting in and out is alittle more gracefully accomplished. Randi LOL
