This one was bid to $2800 and didn't hit its reserve. It has been relisted. I'm currently high bidder but doubt that'll last long.

eBay Berk 3 cyl in CT

This one looks pretty & has the unusual California bugeye headlights. Lots of photos.

Berk 2 cyl in CA

Meanwhile, there's a Berk advertised on the Hemmings web site for $13K, and a B95 race car where the owner's asking over $30K.

For sale: Berkeley SE328 <s>parts car</s> , perfect resto candidate, for only <s>$400</s> $1200.

I like the fix-er-upper more.

Very original and it has the 492.

That was the biggest engine offered.....Correct?

I like that one better, too, although both look pretty complete.

The 492 3 cylinder was the biggest of the 2 strokes but the later "B95" and "B105" cars had 4 stroke Royal Enfields of just under 700cc. There are about a dozen of the RE powered cars in the US so you don't see them often. They have a different nose that's not as pretty as the 2 cycle cars.

There's a picture of a RE powered car at https://www.coldplugs.com/berkstoday01.htm about 1/3 of the way down the page.

The 3 cylinder cars are great when they're running right and have a sound all their own. None are quiet.

Very impressive if it were cubic inches! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Interesting headlights on that CA car. I don't think it really improves the look but has a reasonably well intergrated look all things considered and the fact that they seem to be riveted on. Its one of the few that I've seen for sale out west as well. I'd love one someday but the usual no space, no time, no money constraints currently apply.

Yips.....4 grand for a full resto Berkeley.

Maybe there are too many LBC lovers.

Agreed!....I like the looks of the 492.

The California car just sold for $8001 - after the owner lowered the reserve. This is more than twice what I expected.

The Berkeley forum seems to feel that this is not an aberration, but that the cars have risen dramatically in value over the past year or so.

I dunno. I hope the new owner saw the car in person before bidding on it.

Berkeleys dont rot! They crack/cobweb! Like the 54/55 corvette. Their fiberglass bodies with aluminum bracing. The original power plant is a Royal Enfield 750 motor cycle engine. Talk about fuel economy! PJ
