MONZA!!

MONZA!!

:savewave:

Saw the qualifying yesterday...

21-year-old pole sitter!!!

Hope Hamilton can keep his head together for this one.
He's got to use his rain skill smartly and get a win on Ferraris turf.

Almost half way... so far, so good!

He's masterful in the wet.

GEEZ!!!

Totally unexpected finish.

But WELL deserved!

We had a pretty good rain storm come through that disrupted my satellite reception...but I got to see the podium interviews.

All I have to say... second week in a row...WOTTA RACE!!! Loved it, some pretty good action from all the main characters, and the kid deserved the win!!...now for the verdict later this week on last weeks rule "infraction"! And the beat goes on...

First time since '57 the Italian anthem was played for a make other than Ferrari!!! Youngest pole-sitter AND youngest winner ever, too!!

That was a good run for Vettel and Toro Rosso. That car was dialed in, and he ran a good race.

I wonder what happened to Hamilton's car...he should have been able to pass Massa the way that he climbed up through the field. Maybe brakes cooled too much, maybe tires? Oh well. On to Singapore...

OK. I'm a Rookie at this so rib me all you want. Channel surfing a few weeks ago I turned on Speed and this F1 Race was on. I watched and really enjoyed it.
I'm a fan of racing and noticed that these guys turn left and right if you catch my drift on the type of racing fan I am - (Runs for cover). Anyway it was really intense to watch especially the RPM's those cars were turning. I'm hooked and want to learn what I can about the cars and the drivers.

My initial question is why do they have a flashing light at the back of the car? Lastly, when I can watch another!

Singapore, last weekend of this month. Practice Friday, Quals on Saturday, Race on Sunday.
When travelling at 150-200mph on a rain soaked track (something alien to domestic racing), the flashing red light is all the tailing driver can see, if anything at all.
This race was a good one Vince, and very diverse from the usual domestic stuff....
Debris on the track, rain, tires that don't wear out after 7 laps and no yellow flags.
The problem with the Singapore race, is that it will be on in the middle of the night, so you have to watch the replay before coming to BCF else Doc has already posted the result!

I've noticed that before to the dismay of some of the other BCF'ers. Two weeks it is then. I'll have to start learning the players and see who I want to root for. How much longer is the season?

Wonder if the Singapore "track" is ready yet? I believe they're racing on the streets.

I spent three weeks there last August, wonderful place, except for the heat/humidity. I'd go for a walk in the morning before work - it was about 90F and humid at 6:00AM! I could never live there.

4 races.
Schedule is here.

Edit, the Singapore is an evening race, so it'll be on in the morning here 7 or 8 ish a.m.
China and Japan will be middle of the nights, Brazil should be at a time where a beer or two would not be unreasonable.

<span style="font-size: 20pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">Don't read the thread!!!</span></span>

You should know better than to read one of the Doc's threads Sunday morning regarding F1 until after you watched the race. At least he didn't put the spoiler in the subject line.

Too late....don't read any of the preceding posts.

HEY!! I ~DID NOT~ ruin th' "surprise" this time.

*sheesh*

I been a Formula-1 junkie from age 12... Until just recently (advent of "cable TeeVee") we had no info until the AutoWeek hit the mailbox a week after the race. Now we get out the cappucino maker at 6AM and can scream at th' tube when things get exciting.

Once a year we'd know who won almost immediately: The Glen was an Annual Pilgrimage.

Jean and I went to each of the F1 races at indy...same seats for each race; at the end of the front stretch at Turn One...we could see the first 5 or 6 turns and watch them go into the Hulman Straight...and had a video screen directly across from us for all of the other action.

The pre-race Ferarri and Porsche races were always fun to watch as well.

By 10:30 AM couldn't find it anyway.
Went an worked in the yard
