Molded Trunk Carpet Installation

Thanks to Tony I have a beautiful Moss molded trunk carpet set to install in my '64 MGB roadster. However, there are no instructions. Seems pretty straightforward of course; but I would appreciate any tips from those of y'all who have already done it. My trunk is very, very clean, no rust or peeling paint or anything like that. Thanks.

Jim

Be careful trimming it. I did my trunk years ago, before the new molded kits were on the market. I cut the tip of my finger off with one of those snap-the-blade-off wallpaper knives. Cost me 10 stitches and a tetanous shot, it's still numb. Wear gloves and/or be careful if you trim it with a knife.

I used spray glue to hold the various bits in place...

mmmmmm... spray adhesives...

the strong glue smell if finally gone from my B (carpeted the interior not too long ago), and now the interior smell resembles the classic "new car smell" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Not molded, but here's a photo of mine. (blood stains removed /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

A DPO hacked up the rear bulkhead to fit 6x9 speakers. I was too lazy to replace it so I made a false back from MDF to hide them. Relocated the trunk light so I can see what's back there.

That's nice. Glad I don't have a trunk lid but wish I had a real trunk. Especialy one that looked like that.

Really really looks good. Well done.

What's the matter Doc no flashlights down your way?

That's all I ever had for a boot light, Jack. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

...and the carpet does look good. I had considered doing it, now I'm convinced it'll happen.

That boot photo makes me want to install one myself - absolutelx beautiful!
