Modified Banjo Steering Wheel????

Love the LBC's but my 6'4" frame and size 15 shoes don't fit too well. have found that a nice 13" steering wheel works great but I hate to give up on the old Banjo look.

does anyone know of a place that rebuilds the standard ones to 13"? Thanks.

Funny you should ask. I'm in the process of doing a mod to my original TR4A banjo wheel. So far I have busted all the plastic off, cut and welded the metal hoop to a 14" diameter, shortened the spokes and reattached them to the hoop. I'm now in the process of sandwiching the hoop between 2 pieces of walnut. It won't be totally original because it will be wood, but it should look good. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Sounds great. you could always paint the wood to at least look like the original. Wood is nice though. let us all see when you are done.

Did you make the wood yourself? if not, where did you get it? thanks.

Is this on the TR4? I'm 6'5" but only size 9.5 shoe and only issue for me with my TR4A was sliding my right leg under the steering wheel getting in and out.

6/5 and only a 9 1/2.
How do you keep from falling over?

I'm doing the wood myself. I made an octagon and then cut out a circle. It will go on a TR4A. I'll post some photos when done.
