MK1 3000 fan belt

Hi all - I have recently put a new old stock ferodo fan belt on my 3000. Every 50 miles or so i find it is very loose and seems to have stretched and the v worn away. Can any one recommend a modern car fan belt that will fit that i can buy from a local motor factors? If so which car should i ask for (available in UK) My car is standard 3000 MK1 with dynamo

This should be a non-issue; just take your old (or NOS) belt into a local__generic__parts retailer, and show them what you need.

You can approximate how much shorter you need the new belt to be, based on how much of the tension adjustment has been used up. There's a fair amount of leeway here ;)
