Mk I/MK II Sprite Factory Hardtops

Hi folks,
Does anybody know if the factory hardtop from a MK II Sprite is the same as for the Bugeye? I know that the windshield is the same and since the cars are so similar, I am hoping that the factory hardtop that I bought with a MK II would fit a Bugeye.

I don't know about the MKII top vs the Bugeye, but if it doesn't fit, you might want to check Smoothline Tops (see link on our links section). They are after market tops, but look like fairly good quality. I am almost certain they have tops for the Bug Eye.

I HAVE a square body, side curtain Sprite that came with a factory hardtop....I'm hoping that it fits a Bugeye so I can sell it for big bucks! 8> )

It's more of a curiosity thing....I've never seen one for the early Sprites before and now I own one!

So I was curious as to whether or not it would in fact, fit.

The MKII hardtop will sorta kinda fit a Bugeye. It will clamp to the windscreen and fit the ****pit but there will be 2 open areas on the back sides.
The Bugeye rear deck has more of a curve and will keep the MKII top up just abit.
But it will work with some thicker rubber or something stuffed in the open area.
Not correct but it will make the car much warmer.
