Right leg a bit better daily but still will not bend enough to get in her without big time pain. Doc says it will be weeks yet, sigh.

I am so bored with this light duty, my daily jobs are even pileing up. I may never get back on the power curve, I have now read 14 books and all my friends mags. Have you guys read the Hemmings Sports and Clasics. I think I need to put that on my gotta read monthly list.

Did go to a dirt track raceway last Fri and enjoyed it. Those guys are nuts.

Received a small shipment from Tony so I think I am now ready when able to pull the engine and take care of my clutch prob. Boy is the real throwout bearing thick and the one that comes in a three way kit thin. Will take some pics when engine is out so we can give Moss a bad time.

Have been unable to get on the floor so I can clean up Miss Agathas undercarrage since the Loto event. First fall show here 6 or 7 Sept. and they have a class for 4 cyl Brit cars. That's the one I got first in last year.

Nice to see that so many of us are makeing good progress on their projects over the summer.

The O.S.H.I.T. project is comming along nicely. They are about to move the Bugeye from Calif. to NJ starting early Aug. From what I read it is going to be a relatively easy restoration for Spritenut. For those who do not know it is going to be a gift to a retired Priest who just got rid of his square body Sprite and has always wanted a Bugeye. Should be a fun adventure. So many folks are provideing parts and labor.

That's all the news fit to print guys. Have a good one.

   I never looked at the Ministers car project as an acronym!!! Who had the sense of humor to go with that????

Jack I sure hope your knee is OK for that show!! Would be nice to takeit two years in a row!!!

They calling it the Holy Sprite.

Jack

You should be searching out your next project with all this free time.Rest that knee do not push it or you could be laid up longer. Did you have a grease nipple put into the knee?

cheers

Mark

You guys are simply HILARIOUS!

"The O.S.H.I.T. project..." (WAY too funny!!)

"...the Holy Sprite" (also close to requiring a visit to the comfessional!)

& "Did you have a grease nipple put into the knee?" (Jack doesn't need a knee grease fitting. He owns a Sprite!! Knees are naturally lubricated from years of kneeling in it!!) :driving:

All of these gave me the best laugh I've had all week! (I must be working too hard!!)

Sorry to hear that your leg is acting up Jack. But be sure to follow the doc's advise & I'm sure you'll be back in prime form in no time!!

"Cheers!"

OOOPS almost forgot...

Looking forward to seeing those pics of the throwout bearings.

Who did you get the "thick" one from??

-Bear-

Both are from Moss. The thick is a single order of a 948 bearing and is the same as the orginal I threw away.

The one in the car that is 1/4 inch thinner is from a Moss three way clutch kit, throwout bearing, pressure plate, and disc.

As you maybe know or maybe do not. the clutch does not work correctly. At higher RPM the pedal goes almost to the floor. And it is not air in the system, much bleeding and several complete draining of the system and starting over.

Had no probs initially but the third time I pulled the engine I replaced an orginal clutch system just due to age with the current one. Wrong answer, I would have been better off to use the old one, at least it worked properly.

Oh well, this fall on the fifth engine pull I will learn the answer, but it has been slow in comming, the possible answer that is.

Old Sprite Handymen in Transit = O.S.H.I.T.

They go places and restore sprites when it is for an acceptable cause.

I initially ordered the entire kit for Jack - when he started having problems, just out of curiosity, I ordered the separate throwout bearing...its the 'thick' one Jack's talking about...I've already notified Moss that there's a difference in the bearing that comes in the kit & the individual one....they're pulling one of each off the shelf & sending them to the tech guys so they can test them.

As usual, Tonys on top of it.

However, that engine has been out 4 times and it needs to come out again. Thank goodness it is driveable as long as I behave, hehe. 5K RPM sounds so fine.
