Mintex Brake Pads

Hello

I have a set of Mintex brake pads for my TR4. I also have a pair of very nicely rebuilt and painted calipers. Thing is that the pads will not do into the calipers. The old ones go in just fine but the new ones seem to be too wide. So I'm left with the option of either grinding down the pads to fit (doesn't sound like a good idea) or filing off some of the coating from my newly coated calipers. Any suggestions...?

Thanks for your help.

Myles

I hate to state the obvious, but where don't they fit? Are the pistons fully retracted? or is the paint/coating on the calipers way too thick? Seems to me that, appearance aside, there should NOT be any paint or coating where the pads contact the body of the caliper.

Here is a picture...

File them to the dimension of the old stock pads. It shouldn't hurt anything to remove from the sides, but remove enough so they move easily and won't bind.

can you get new brake material bonded to the old pads?
