Mini story in "British Motoring"

Anyone else see the story about driving a 2000 (old style) Mini through the Alps? It was in "British Motoring", that little magazine/catalog that Moss sends out. I was a nice little story. What I found most interesting was the fact that the first scheduled service stop included re-torquing the head bolts! Also, even though it was a 2000, it has only a 1 year warranty.

It was also pretty funny that when the author pulled off the road to take a picture, it knocked the alignment off. He figured that since driving forward into a curb caused the problem, backing into a curb would correct it, which he did....successfully.

Yeh Lawguy, I liked it too. I'm going to give it to an old friend (state side here) that rallied a Mini in England during the '70s after he swapped in a 1250 engine.

Re: Mini story in "British Motoring"

I'm a bit behind in my reading... But the car looks just like the one that I purchased in the UK last year and shipped here (registered as a '72). I agree on everything and have even experience the "curbing" problem.
