Mini drive shaft nut size.

Does anyone know what size the nut is on the hub end of the drive shafts on a 1986 Mini. I reckon it is 34mm but don't want to go and buy a stonkin' big socket like that and buy the wrong size:eek: Thanks.

cheers, Tim

Even though you're talking about a "late" Mini, the nut should be Imperial/Inch, not metric. The nut size is 1-5/16".

1 5/16 is the correct size for all drive shaft bolts I have used...
Word to the wise, dont try to match metric equivelants on your engine pieces...if you round off a bolt/nut it's a royal pain to get it off again.
