I have successfully taken several Milky Way photos , but I have never tried a full arching Milky Way Panorama. Thatβs going to change in a few days. When the moon is a new
moon I am going to attempt a 180 degree pano with a specific geological feature in the center and the MW arching from right to left, horizon to horizon.
my plan will be for the first shot to be due south, then 5 more shores at 30 degree increments, with the last shot due north. The geologic feature should be dead-center (due east.
I renting a small camper for the excursion. The plane is to take a couple sets of βforegroundβ images, one at golden hour and one during blue hour, then shoot the same set at 4-4:30-ish on the morning for the MW. Then combine in Photoshop.
