If cable counts, Band of Brothers! (it was a series!!)

Goin' back:

Branded
Rin Tin Tin
Mr. Roberts
North and South (mini-series)

's kinda funny but I think "China Beach" was about the only TV show I'd consider watching any amount of again. And I got a laugh outta "MASH" once in a while. Haven't seen "Band of Brothers" yet, may get a round tuit based on friends' recommendations.

Ken Burns' "The Civil War" was worthwhile television, IMO. As is the "Dogfight" series.

There was an episode of some series hosted by George C. Scott back in the late '80's or early '90's on Discovery Channel, titled: "Combat Camera" I'd like to have an original broadcast version of... I'm intent on attending a "reunion" of 600/601st Aerospace Audio Visual Squadron vets in September: There were interviews with a few of the people I served with on that program who are slated to be at this gathering. I got the commercial release but it's been cut differently.

The guy who became the Commander after the change from AAVS to Combat Camera was interviewed in the program and is gonna be at the reunion. I took his wedding photos back in '73. Funny how things happen.

...sorry for the hijack. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Rat Patrol: Gosh, I never knew that the Desert Rats were an American unit........ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Okay, from the other side of the pond, we used to get the Rat Patrol and Mash too, but none of the others.

Dad's Army

"It ain't half hot mum"

'Allo 'Allo

Band of Brothers seconded! Absolutely the best war series I've ever seen.

Mail Call with R. Lee Ermey (spelling?)
Wonder Woman
6 Million Dollar Man
I Dream of Jeannie

yea.. I was gonna say Mail call. I love that show.
M*A*S*H*,
Gomer Pyle USMC,
Seargent Bilko (Phil Silvers)
McCales Navy
Or from my childhood the animated GI Joe (looking back it was awful)
Band of brothers is definatly one of the best
Trying to think of some of the Viet Nam era shows... but I can't get a title.
I was always more of a War movie guy.
No time for seargents was always a favorite in the comedy genra.

Yea, and mentioned by the 30 year old none the less! Those shows had been off the air for years before I was born.
But I've still seen them, and they're better than most of the drivel on the networks now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

I shudder to think I can claim to have watched Sargeant Bilko when it was "contemporary". gah.
