Mileage

After a long trip I took this weekend, some 260 or so miles in total, and about 350 miles from friday through to sunday evening, I took note of the gas mileage. Turns out that on the return journey, some 141 miles were covered and the fuel consumption was 4.04 gallons of Sunoco Ultra 94. Amazingly, for a hot engine (despite my stated cylinder firing issues), I managed 35 MPG! I couldn't believe it. This makes me wonder what others get. Input please!

I averaged 38 mpg with my TR7 last year on a trip to Oklahoma City, averaging 75+mph.

6 gallons per hour when racing......about 12 mpg.
"Unit 512" (my racevan) gets about 10 mpg.
On the street, the Spridget can get about 20 mpg. Miata gets near-30 mpg.

28 mpg on my last check. new engine.

I just finished about 200 miles of mostly highway driving. My GT6+ with 3.89 diff and Jtype OD got roughly 31 mpg in highway driving conditions. This includes about 20% Interstate driving at 65-70mph and the rest was "country road" driving at mostly 45-60mph.

My 31mpg higway seems correct for this car because Paul Tegler reports roughy the same (32mpg) with his MK III GT6 with an exhaust gas analyzer which allows for very fine tuning.
