I got out of bed at 8 this morning - didn't go to work, fighting the flu - looked out the upstairs window, and both our regular cars were in the driveway. Went downstairs, looked for the keys to the garage, and they were gone. Yep, the Healeys live in the garage, the Sante Fe and the Dodge live in the driveway. Called my wife, who left for work at 6:15 am, and she said "I took the sprite to work, it was a little chilly, but I left the top down". IT WAS 38 DEGREES at 6:15 this morning, and she drove the Sprite 32 miles to work with the top down! What have I created? She had never been in a LBC til she met me.

  Hehehehe, You have created a monster Dr. Frankenstein!! :jester:

Yep, I think I have! Pretty neat, huh? She even keeps track of who's turn it is to drive when we take the 100-6 or one of the Sprites out.... It's bad news if I forget that it's her turn!

THat's pretty neat She has her own set of key now I hope...
If not she does and a a fob with the logo!

She's got it all, including a cushion so that she sits a little higher in the Healeys, she used to disappear when she shifted! We put an extension on the clutch on the 100-6 so she could shift and see where she was going at the same time...

Sounds like you should enjoy full support in the pursuit of your LBC hobby. The down side is, of course... Well, never mind. You just found out about the down side. :yesnod:

I think that's why she was supportive of buying the Sprite, we couldn't both drive the 100-6 at the same time!

 Now there's a lady after my own heart. Snug as a bug in a rug, top down, and all that is necessary is ear warmers and gloves! :driving:

Excellent, and to work no less. It begs the question, how many of you are driving with the top down? After-all, if a girl can do it...

She's got the gloves and ear warmer! She's on her way home now, got out of work early. It's a balmy 48 degrees out there now. That will seem like a heat wave compared to this morning. Every time you post about driving Ms Agatha somewhere when it's cold, it makes me think of her!

I made a wind blocker for my wife as she hated it blowing her hair forward. Now she off in it alot.
Honey going to coffee with the girls.
Bye going to book club.
Heck some times I find shes just gone! What worrys me is shes out with my daughter whos on her permit now. I'm just waiting to hear her say dad show me how to drive the sprite or the cortina... AH AH! No way lets go buy you a Focus or cavalier!

A month or so ago there was a discussion about building wind blockers on the Forum, and she read it. She's been asking me about them ever since then - her hairs about halfway down her back, so it probably wouldn't be a bad idea...
My daughter's favorite one to drive is the Bugeye, but its off the road right now.

 I'm curious. Did you know I am female? It dawned on me that perhaps most don't as I don't think it's evident in my info. That's how I am familiar with gloves and ear-warmers.

Didn't know it mattered!!

(oh, I'm in my late 20's, early 30's...look like a Greek adonis, bench press 235, am a billionaire with homes in the US, the Caribbean, & the south of France, & have my own jet.....hehehehe)

Yeah, but where are your gloves and ear warmers.

Dave

:driving: Tony, it doesn't matter. The reply was in response to Longbridge Healey's "Every time you post about driving Ms Agatha somewhere when it's cold, it makes me think of her!" I drive Agatha all the time with the top down. I feel too closed in otherwise. I just wanted Longbridge to know that his wife has company! That's all. Wasn't pulling the gender card.

Ha! After all your posts, I just realized that you're a GIRL! It's great to see females participating here.

AND, one of your cars is named ONSLOW! Only one place that name could have come from (BBC show "Keeping Up Appearances"). One of my favorite TV shows.

Cheers to you. And keep driving in the cold weather. It's exciting, no???

Yep, I knew you were female! I keep using you as an inspiration for her to join the Forum on her own, rather than reading through my posts. She know as much - or little - about our cars as I do, and she helps work on them. Her small hands are great for the cars!

 Mark, you are just too smart. Onslow A Jaguar is taken from "Keeping Up Appearances". Also Agatha A Healey is in honor of Agatha Christie. Longbridgehealey, please tell your wife that she should be on the forum herself as we women sometimes have much to offer, if only to keep you 'gents' on the straight and level. Picture this: Old Lady on Social Security, temperature in the 40's, local post office and cool LBC, top down. Young gent says: "Don't you think it's too cold to be having the top down?" Old lady says: "It all depends on your definition of cold. To me cold is 6 feet under so today is simply grand!" Young gent backs sheepishly away never to be heard from again. Old lady leaves with a grin that won't quit. Old lady is me... :driving:
