Midget wipers slow and stopping

The Midget's wipers have been slow recently, but I hadn't gotten to checking them out and had to drive in a moderate rain and the wipers would stop, but start again when I gave one a push, sticking my hand out the window. Its a good thing I had Rain-x on the windshield or I couldn't have seen much. This would only last a little while though. The higher speed would not either, although it worked last week.

Anone know if lubrication on the wiper wheelboxes would help, new cable? or is this sound like a motor problem. All of these parts are the originals to my '73.

I would take the wiper motor gear box apart, remove the top and clean out all the old grease, I bet it is hard. Real clean now and relub with new stuff.

See if that does not help. Of course it could be the motor its self needs a bit of cleaning on the bushings and a good clean up.

They are kind of bullet proof so I should not expect anything major.

thanx that sounds easy enough. I'll get on that tomorrow after I put a new relay in my wife's Acura
