midget vapor lock

My brother has a "77 midget that runs great until it gets warmed up. The heat shield is missing, and we both think maybe the heat from the exhaust is heating the float bowel up and causing a partial vapor lock, he has ordered a header for the car, will this help by getting rid of the catoletic converter? If not does anyone have any ideas for making a heat shield? Thanks

1. You need a heat shield, big time
2. The cat generates a LOT of heat. Getting rid ofit depends on local emmissions regulations.
3. Find one and make a pattern. Better yet, buy sa used one from Tony Barnhill!

I'v got lots of them!

And now that he has cleaned up, he can find them!

Hey Tony, do you have one of those seatbelt holders...the flat plastic things that screw onto the back side panel to put the clip in when not in use? Most of them got broken by screws that were too big...I have one and would like to find another...even broken will do?

It's been a while sinse I had a 1500 Midget in my shop, but I don't remember it having a heat shield. I think maybe your having choke problems instead of vapor lock. I have never seen an MG vapor lock.
