Midget Stuck In Reverse?

To make a long story short, and to help anyone out with this problem in the future, I will tell you how I solved this problem on a friend's Midget. We had pulled the engine and gearbox to get the gear unstuck. Opening the side panel and pushing the reverse selector out. It's in the rear of the case, on the bottom.

Well the next day after putting it all back in, it got stuck again while out driving. I put the car on jackstands, with all four wheels off the ground, drained the gearbox through the center drain plug, and lo-and-behold, there was the reverse selector peeking out of the drain hole. I saw the screw on the bottom of the selector(really the only thing you can see), held a flathead screwdriver up to it, and hit it with my socket wrench towards the front of the gearbox. It jumped out of reverse, and after filling it back up, we took off. Never to put the car in reverse again. (until it goes into the shop for winter that is.) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
