Midget carb upgrade

Hello, all! Just joined the forum today.

I have a 75 Midget 1500 that I've owned since last Monday with a tired Stromberg 150 CD carb. I have a line on a NOS Stromberg 175 CD. Does anyone know if there is an adapter to go from the two hole pattern of the 150 CD to the four hole pattern of the 175 CD?

Or should I even try?

Thanks,

Fran

I think the answer is a different manifold. Just rebuild what you got.

WElcome. Not sure if there is a adaptor but if you can
get your CD150 in good working order it is a fine carb for your 1500 engine Get a quality rebuilt one with a manual choke instead of the auto water choke, my '79 ran like a dream like that.
Where in NY are you?

Mike,

I'm in Canandaigua (Finger Lakes). Mine already has a manual choke which I believe was standard.

Any suggestions for rebuild sources?

Thanks,

Fran

You could order a rebuild kit and do it yourself if you
think you have the skills but that would lay the car up for some time until you finish it. There are a few very good rebuilders out there some even on this list. My recommendation though is Jeff Palya, he has done 3 sets of carbs for me for different cars and he does excellent work. You can even ask him if he suggests anything different for your engine. Take a look at his website

Too bad you are so far upstate.

Do an SU HS4 Rebuilt and dial in the needle. My 75 never ran so good! Keep the stock manifold and open the carb flange holes to fit
