<span style="font-weight: bold">Spridgeteers,

There are only 13 days to go before the big party at Elkhart Lake!! No more advanced registrations will be taken after this coming Sunday (July 10th). Since it was necessary to give Road America and the various caterers some pretty firm numbers by this coming weekend, if you haven't signed up for meals, Track Tour, banquet by Sunday, we will be unable to guarantee their availability for last minute registrations.

Do recall that there will be no regalia available for purchase at the event. Some really nice regalia is available from the Sprite-Midget Club store at: CafePress Spridget Store <https://www.cafepress.com/spridget/>

I just bought the clock for my garage/basment. See you guys there. I have already worked 54 hours this week and 2 more days to go(at least). I am so looking forward to having a good time with the little cars.

Jeez, its one week tomorrow before I leave out. Its the end of an unbelievable work week. I cannot believe we got that much done. Just left work about an hour ago with a little over 89 hours in for the week.
I am beyond tired. many things have to start up and run Monday so I don't know if I will have a day off until I leave.
Plan for tomorrow. Sleep, sleep, drive the little car a bit and load it on the trailer and take the whole rig for a test tow, then put the trailer with the car on it in the garage.
Then possibly find out why the horn is not working. Just noticed it last trip and absolutely no time to sort that out.
I have given up on mowing my grass, I need a bush hog and a hay baler.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and a good time and time and mind away from work.

Midget all loaded up and a test tow down the interstate did well. Took the midget for a run this morning and I know its in my head the but little car seemed excited and had loads of power and performed flawlessly.
I expect that I will work until the day I leave or maybe the day before.
Question for the those who know the area we are going. Is there a place at the hotel were we can wash the little'uns before the show? I am figuring I will hit a least one rain storm of some kind on the way up and the midget will need a washin'.
I hate this. I just know I am going to forget something. I have to switch back to thinking about not midget related stuff tomorrow.

Tow???? wtf.....

Anyway.... The "show" is Tuesday at the Marsh... lotso water there... some clean;-)

Relax... I'm nervous.... you're OK

I'll be carrying "Waterless Car Wash".. Spray on, wipe off. Car is ready except for putting the hard top on.

I made up a list starting about a month ago of things to bring. As they go into the car, I cross them off the list, but other than parts for the car, this is America. You can buy almost anything you need along the way or after arrival.

I head North on Thursday to Tacoma, then East with the group on Friday....

My father was trying to talk me into trailering my car. He almost had me convinced (especially since it was 95+ degrees). However, I'm still planning on driving the car. I changed the oil and lubed everything today. It has been running well for the past thousand miles so I'm not touching the timing or the carb. I put a wrench on all the critical bolts and checked for tightness. New tires are balanced, so I'm ready to start packing the weather gear, a few spares, a few tools, and maybe a helmet (if I can remember who borrowed it).

That is an adventure Pythias. I wish I was going along with my midget for that type of ride. I have made them several times on motorcycles, sometimes in a group, sometimes all alone. I love that cross country seeing the landscape change thing. See you there.

My list is getting shorter, but I'm leaving this Wednesday.

Here's whaqt i have left;
Install passenger seat, Put the convertable top back on, 2 new tires, clean and wax.

Along with packing and looking for an apartment in Orlando (200 miles away), I'm going to be very busy

I love cross country trips in the Midget. No AC, no cruise control, hot and a little cramped.
Man that's living!!

Oh to be young again, sigh.

So I just picked up my parcel from little british car company this morning containing a petronix module / coil & gaskets for float bowls on Bridget (because of suspect issue I had last week that ended up appearing to be lack of fuel filter) I have logged over 1800 no-breakdown miles on this car, I believe the new ignition & cleaning of carbs will make it run better... but am I better off to put these parts in the trunk & leave well enough alone or open things up 4 days before heading off on the trip ?

Thoughts ?

I'd clean the carbs, but leave the ignition alone. When you install the pertronix you will need to retime the car. It is easier to fix points on the roadside than the pertronix.

Jeff Schlemmer of Advanced Distributors is doing a tech session on Tuesday at the Marsh. I bet you could be a "subject".

I bet my car will be perfect for many "subjects" ! sounds good to me.

One of the reasons I am not going to drive mine is for some reason after driving 100 miles or so it starts to cut out just a bit. It might be the condenser again but I am doubting it because I got some from a different supplier and they usually don't get better after sitting a cooling off a few minutes. I have stopped roadside and checked sanded cleaned the points and distributor cap and everything I can think of. It might be the coil breaking down because it was hot as a pistol. I have another coil I bought but its not a lucas one but it will work. Its in with my spares. Maybe if it starts that up there in elkhart lake I can figure it out. I didn't want to figure it out on an 800 mile drive

I would put in the cheapest "common" coil that Autozone or similar sells and test it. Bet that you will find it working better.
Do you have a coil in there now that doesn't require a ballast resistor?
