Nice thing about collecting microcars is you only have to have a microgarage!!

I had the opportunity to buy a Messerschmitt in very good condition a year or so ago. If I some place enclosed I would have bought it. I have alway been fascinated by Micro-cars. There is also a Subaru 360 nearby that I would love to have. Unfortunately it is missing the doors.

We all know guys with Ferraris have small winkies so if you have a micro car that should make you rather manly, perhaps even "strong like bull!"

Never thought of it that way!

Actually I am quite seriously looking for a Kei class micro-van. The Kei class is a series of tiny Japanese vehicles. I looked at a Subaru Sambar a few weeks ago, but didn't buy it since it didn't have an A/C.
The one I looked at was the 1.2 liter version. Just think about it, a 7 passenger van with a 3 cyl. 1.2l engine! It actually gets around town quite nicely. Major hills are somewhat of a problems though.

I also saw a 4X4 version a while back but the owner wasn't interested in selling.

Here is a site on all sorts of funny little Japanese vans and commercial vehicles.

I have two microcars, and I must tell you that your hypothesis is incorrect. No bull. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

If you want a new one, 4x4, with all the bells and wistles (and AC since you are in Isreal) I'd go for the Suzuki Every. They just introduced it in Hong Kong a few months ago... the thing looks like it has everything you need for family comfort and utility:

Frankly I think it is criminal that the US doesn't do more to encourage the use of vehicles like this... great cars... I guess with Hummers on the road though not super safe in the US.

Cheers!

Ya whacked that in one, Alan. My eevile plan would be to hammer the GVW with a tax... Exponentially. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Kind of like a Pug so ugly its cute! Unfortunately the importers here have stopped bringing importing most of the little Japanese vehicles (Kei class or otherwise) Israel requires new vehicles to meet Euro 4 emissions standards and they don't comply (for the same reason they have been discontinued in the European market) besides, they weren't exactly popular in the first place.
I am looking for a nice one on the used market and since I don't NEED it, I will wait patiently until a really good one comes along.

I think that the Autozam Scrum Stand Off deserves some kind of award for it's name.

Yes, John. That's right up there with the Humber Super Snipe.

Here's a neat Gogomobile Van we saw at Lime Rock Vintage a few years ago.
We saw a Gogomobile Dart roadster (rhd with just one door....built in Australia) at the same event.

And the micro-Ferrari (also the Lime Rock) was outstanding! (that's a Spitfire behind it).

Is THAT why we all love LBCs so much!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I've actually seen a Trojan once, sort of... The one I saw was a Heinkel, and it was Heinkel who sold the design to Ireland where the Trojan was built
