Miata seats 98% INSTALLED!

I had to take a break tonight as my back is killing me from a stupid move the other day, but I wanted to get the seats in almost all bolted done by days end. I have one more bolt in each side of the front to go, but that will have to wait until Weds afternoon. I'll be on the road all day tomorrow.

So here we go and the speakers work just great. Now I'm glad I did the harnesses the way I did and bought the speaker upgrade kit BobbyD recommended.

The colors are better in daylight, as it's too dark without and too light with it.

I'll be glad when this is done. No more projects for a while.

They feel great.

Don, I think that you asked about the headrests and if they were perforated. In these pictures, I believe that you can see the perforations across the entire cover.

And that isn't Peeps, it's dryer sheets to keep critters from getting comfortable inside when it's all covered up.

Booley, there is a company in Mass that make upgraded speakers for the Miata seats.

Millennium-S Miata seat Retrofit Kit

I got the Millennium-S Retrofit kit as two of the boxes were missing. It come with everything and you can see the harnesses that I made to go to the seats and up inside them here(along with the entire seat conversion story): Miata Seat Conversion

Don- I've zoomed in on the box so that you can see it better. Paul is correct... it keeps out the critters.
Maybe you need to have your "peeps" checked?
I'm happy to help

Next stop, new tonneau to fit the seats and roll bar padding.

Booley,

I got the fronts bolted down and drove the car today for the first time. It was 85 this afternoon, so a perfect time to get it out after work. It was like driving a brand new car.

I've done a lot of things, but this is one that I really recommend. If anyone can get a set of these Miata seats at a decent price and drop them in, you'll love the difference in the comfort, support and ease of use with the tracks compared to the TR6 setup.

Paul,
Do you happen to recall the year of seats that will work? All first gen?

BTW, They look fabulous!

Thanks.

Crisis,

I know that 90-95 will work for sure, but I think that it goes up to 1997. BobbyD might have that on his site. I will try to confirm, but 90-95 is a definite.

The seats all the way to 2005 will fit into a 90 Miata, so I'd bet they can be put into a TR6.

Dave,

There was something about the seats after 97 being too wide. These barely fit and are really tight in there.
