...I've got good brakes on all of my cars, & I STILL roll through stops signs!!...

...before long you're wallet will insist you come to a complete stop...this aint California!

Now, if the locals and GHP would just start enforcing the 'don't live your life in the left lane' law, it'd be a better place.

Ray

:iagree: TRUE on BOTH counts!! But I've always known that I'm a VEEEERRRRRY SLLLOOOOOW Learner!

Regarding your Left Lane observation, I've always wanted to get a mirror imaged sign (readable in a rear-view mirror) that says "SLOWER Traffic Keep Right!" and mount it prominently on the FRONT of my truck. THAT WAY when the clueless driver doing 45mph in the fast lane looks up to see my F350 dually quickly approaching him/her from behind he'd/she'd know what to do!!
Too often they are way too busy talking on the cell phone, or fixing their hair, or putting on make-up, or shaving, or.......

Gotta love Germany for their "rules of the road" on the Autobahn:
1: Do not impede the flow of faster vehicles, yield right-of-way by moving your slower vehicle to the right hand lane(s).
2: Do not pass on the right side of slower vehicles. Flash your headlights at slower vehicles well in advance of your impending approach so that they can yield the right-of-way & move to a slower lane on their right. Pass only on the left side. :driving:

WHY haven't we passed similar laws here in the US?!? Seems like it would eliminate a lot of accidents, road-rage, etc. :yesnod:

("OK, I'll climb down off my soap-box now...." "Anyone have a ladder I can borrow?!?")

"Cheers!"

The Miata 5-speed trans has no provision for a rear mount, because the Miata has a torque beam running from the rear differential to the back of the trans.... so a bracket needs to be fabricated!

We do have the left-lane-law here in Texas.... and it is enforced in several places, but not really overall. Here, in the Lone Star State, if you rear end me, it is ALWAYS YOUR FAULT... PERIOD. So, if I'n in the fast (left) lane already going 15 over the posted limit, and there are a lot of pokey folks congesting the right lanes, and you run up on ME flashing you lights.... you WILL find out just how fast you can react and hit your brakes just to avoid afore mentioned rear-ending! However, I am considerate enough to get out of the way and let you pass just a soon as I get beyond said pokey people! So back off! BTW: They do cite for tailgating here!

So says you.... but it IS the law here in TEXAS! And in Houston, the Toll road Constables ENFORCE it!

For the record:
I did say "...when the clueless driver doing 45mph in the fast lane..."
AND I don't tailgate. :nonono:

SO I think we are close to being on the same page on this topic.... :yesnod:
