T-Series MGTD brake shoes. Are there leading and trailing shoes?

I'm curious about the brake shoes in my friends TD. The linings don't completely cover the shoes as you might expect in a system that doesn't pivot the shoes. So, what is the proper orientation of the shoes? Actually, does anyone have a picture of what the front and rear shoes should look like? Thanks
