Came across the most amazing car meet yesterday in Englewood, FL. The entire main street was lined with collector cars - everything from a 1931 Alfa Romeo 1750 to muscle cars, old American iron, Cobras and a ton of hot rods, some with superchargers bigger than the engine. There were only 3 LBCs that I could see - a 1951 MG TD, stock but with whitewalls, and two MGB's. One was interesting. Approaching from the rear, I knew right away what it was - a rubber buggy bumper B converted to earlier chrome bumpers. What I didn't see until I walked around to the front was the Rover/Buick V6 under the bonnet - a neat conversion. The car was black and appeared to be in great shape. It's also for sale according to the owner on EBay. I didn't ask the price but if you're interested, the car looks great. The other B was sort of a mustard color but in mint condition. This meet is held on the first Saturday of each month. There must have been over 100 cars. If you're in the area, check it out.

I checked out the EBay listing. The latest bid is $12,212.12.I'd be tempted myself but a little too much on my plate right now.

We'll have to check that event out. I was in Sarasota yesterday. We get down there to Englewood often, didn't know about the monthly first Saturday gathering, though. THX for the heads-up.
