Hi all
I am very happy to have entered this group and be part of this community, I have been watching for a long time but I never became a member.

sorry for my english but i'm learning

I tell you my problem if you can help me
I recently bought a 1975 1800cc MGB here in Nicaragua, possibly the only one in the country running.

I started to restore parts because in principle it hadn't worked for years but in general it looked good, I changed the carburetor, the brake pump and the distributor that was giving me many problems

Everything was very difficult and expensive because in Nicaragua, there are no distributors and purchases are made in the United States and from there shipments are made with customs companies that buy tariffs and another shipment.

The worst came yesterday, the car has little power and moves a lot, we measured the compression of the cylinders and it had barely 100 psi and one of them 90.

My great surprise was when we opened the cylinder head, the head said nissan and the entire engine block (number: 18V797AE -L7061) and the cover is MGB (Attached photos)

Could someone tell me if I can work with that cylinder head, do they have any experience or someone who has the engine like this.

What should I do until I am afraid to dismount.

A big greeting, I hope I can listen to your recommendations

More than likely a J type head if I remember correctly. Only major difference is the heater valve boss is different than the BMC head. It shouldn’t be an issue.
welcome to the forum. Your car look nice 👍
