Is there a technique of using normal run of the mill wiper blades from the local parts store that can be configured to work on the OE wiper assembly for a 1973 MGB roadster?
Or do I need to just order the blades from one of the mail order sites?

Thanks in advance

P.S. Its been a long time on the site, good to see it is still up and running strong!

I don't know how true this is as I haven't tried them but, I think someone said Model A Ford blades are the same. If they work, their probably cheaper. Look for a Model A Ford parts site and check the mesurments and connecting hardware. PJ

If you're just talking about replacing the rubber, I have had good success using standard ANCO blades (cut to the proper length) on the stock wipers. If you want more info, shoot me a message or reply here.

PS: The "rubber" shipped on the replacement blades that Moss Motors sell is HORRIBLE. It's more like vinyl than rubber and really works poorly.

i definitely would just suggesting not to drive in the rain! lol

Your going to have to do some digging in the wiper isle. You need to find a blade with the bayonet style adapter. According to Anco the 31-10 is the one that fits the MGB.

For years I would snipe wiper blade inserts from my old man. He drove Lincolns, one of his inserts (Amco) would make two for the MGB.

...but that was a two-wiper MG, old style blade holders.

yes these SOBs always charge 4x the rate to ship...yea like it's being carried over the Atlantic on the Mayflower!!
