Are do the tonneau covers fit all years? Or are they broken into two groups? I've found a used one that looks like a good deal on ebay, but it's from a '69 MGB and I dunno if it'll fit my '76.

Actually they are broken into 3 groups (according to Moss website) 62-67, 68-70, and 71-80. And only the 71-80 are available with or without headrest pockets - the others are not... Oh, and they have one listed seperately for just 1969 with headrest pockets. Also seems there's a split in the 70-80 models based on car number.

1969 headrests were huge compared to later ones. Taller by double the later cars. Those were the first headrest cars IIRC.

Rob,

if you don"t get the one from ebay try Prestige https://www.prestigeautotrim.com/usa/usa/tops/mgb_hoods.htm very high quality and as low as 144 dollars for a new black one.

here is my 78 with a tan CV vinyl tonneau

hmmm... my head rests aren't very tall... but they are thick... very thick. They have the center piece of vinyl that through the middle of them. My headrests are like the ones here: https://cgi.ebay.com/2-1976-MGB-Car-Seats...1QQcmdZViewItem

But mine are in lots better condition than those. So, I guess the question is whether or not the headrest pockets can accomodate those head rests and whether or not there are any button/fastener differences?

If you can wait 3 weeks you can have my old one. It's in decent condition with one small tear that can easily be fixed. All the zippers work and all the snaps are there.

69 was the first year of head rests I think and the shape was unique to that year . So a 69 tonneau would not look rite on a later car

'69 won't fit your car...in addition to the "Chicklet" headrests that are different from your headrests, there are other variances.

If he can't wait 3 weeks, I'll take it Stewart. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Paul... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif...Is that an old Rustang I see sitting in the trees in the background? Whats under wraps?

BTW: nice looking B

shucks... I've been 2+ years without a tonneau. I can go another 3 weeks easily... heck I could go another 3 months easily /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The thing that caught my attention with the one on ebay was there's no reserve and the bid is still under $20 (15hours left on that auction btw). If it would fit my car I would bid on it, but thanks to everyone's feed back here, I know it won't fit my car. So, I won't bid on it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
