MGB MGB Pistons

I am rebuilding a 3 main bearing MGB G Engine which I recently acquired. It appears to have been rebuilt years ago as the crank is .010 under, and probably did not see a great deal of service after the rebuild as the original or replacement MOWOG pistons and rings are very clean. I had purchased a set of NOS AE pistons on ebay, but now I am wondering whether I would be better off staying with the factory MOWOG pistons. Does anyone have an opinion. Also, while the bearings do not show much wear, I suppose I put new bearings in since I can; is any brand better or worse. Also, the Dr. Doolin video says replace the oil pump no matter what but mine "looks" fine and sometimes I wonder about the replacement stuff. I would appreciate any and all opinions and any other advice. Thanks much, Joe

The pistons should be all right, but make sure that they won't raise or lower the compression ratio on you, or that they are not oversized (Dad's B has oversized pistons). May as well replace the bearings, as you said, just because you can. Same for the oil pump, even if it looks good. You may catch the loss of oil pressure and not cause any damage, but you'll still be stuck pulling the motor anyway. Better safe than stuck in the garage!
