MGB MGB Pistons

So I bought a 1800 motor for my MGA, I see on ebay a set of un-used pistons that are plus 30" and have not been used, currently at half the retail price, they are from a 18GG engine and mine is a 18V engine.

What are the differences? I think something different in the little end?

Thanks.

Not taking away from the vast knowledge out there, but I think Hap would be able to answer your question in detail. PJ

Press fit pins (18V) vs floating pins (18GG). Some of the piston sets are made to work with either press fit or floating pins, the pins are the diameter regardless of floating or press fit (.812"), although some of the older engine's pistons are a 4 ring design, and in my opinion, I would go with the 18V County piston set, they are a nice modern three ring design, and have nice ring set, I really like their oil control rings. MGB piston are dirt cheap, get the right ones for you 18V would be my advice.
