MGB MGB manual

The Bentley manual is my pick as well. But just in case I get confused & need a second opinion I keep a Haynes on hand. Sometimes the different prospective is enough to point me in the direction I need to go.

I like the Lindsay Porter book "Guide to Purchase and DIY Restoration". Very easy to understand, decent photos. Due respect to Bentley, it really is very good, but may not be available over there.

I've got a really worn out bentley manual for my MGB... it's da bomb... uh, I mean it's an excellent manual, anything not covered in it is here on the boards in someones head. Well worth the money. That said... I buy a haynes manual for every car I've ever owned - except the Alfa - no manuals for it yet, but I need to get one soon.

Maureen O'Hara in the John Wayne movie "The Quiet Man" about the American boxer who returned to Ireland.

I recently purchased the Heritage Motor Centre CD - "MGB & MGB OriginalTechnical Publications". They have them to cover different year ranges. The CD has parts publications, worshop publications, and owners literature for various years. In my case, I have a 76 roadster. The Bentley manual , that covers 1974-1980, has the owners manual for a later model rubber bumper car, and it doesn't match my car. But the CD has the owner's manual for my car. The CD is available from Moss for $30. Well worth it in my opinion.

Yep got one as well, have used it on several occusions. Is a worthwhile thing to have.

One other book I'd like to recommend - "Your Expert Guide to MGB & MGB GT Problems and How to Fix Them" by Roger Williams. It's especially good if you're like me. I've only had my MG for about a year. Williams sorts things by problem symptoms, so you get an idea of the various things that may be causing a problem.

Of course, the quickest way to get an answer is to post it on the forum!

John Twist at University Motors in Ada Mi. (Grand Rapids) is an MG specialist and has MG seminars. He has a Technical Manual that is jammed with information. It is not a step-by-step for everything (none of them do that well), but it does tell you how and why things work. It also has a lot of data and reprints of his self-help columns. It includes the T-series forward.

I use it with the Bentley and Haynes. Each have their benefits.

Bentley, Haynes & the BCF!!
