A friend of mine just purchased an MGB. He is unsure of the exact year of the vehicle. the vin number is GHN5UL489126G. The engine number is 18V883AEL036347. Can someone please verify the year of this vehicle.

Built in 1979, Title may say 1980 however. Common with english cars.

Looks like a '79. Not sure about the engine, but I think it's in the proper range.
