This is kind of an insignificant problem but it bugs me. When I push "Molly's" horn button sometimes the horns blow and sometimes I just get a weak bleating sound sorta like a sick sheep. Any way I can tune up the horns to make them sound a liitle more authoritative? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Clean all the wireing first and make sure ground is good.

If that does not work they need rebuilt or replaced. Some times there is a screw on the out side that can be turned just a bit to put a different pressure on the horn noise maker inside. Works part of the time. There is a guy someplace that rebuilds them, I seem to have lost his link but if you need it I will google and see what I see.

John, If you have and want to keep the original horns,(metal), sometimes you can tune them up by turning a adjustment screw on the horn. If that doesn't work, you can drill out the rivets and take the horn apart and clean them out and also clean the points that are inside. Reassemble the horns with pop rivets. Paint and no one will ever know the differance. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif PJ

The little sheep 'bleak' means either the wiring isn't allowing enough current or the horn is slowly giving up the ghost....Paul's idea above is probably right on the head...if that doesn't work, buy a set of good used horns.

Not being a true purist bought me a used pair of genuine Fram Italian air horns of the type much beloved by the youth of Italy in their Fiat 500's. These horns not only make your car go faster but scare the daylights out of the inconsiderate drivers of SUV's like the one that I passed today. She was talking on the phone (nach) whilst holding a cigarette in the other. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

More than likely a bad contact on one of the horns most likely pasenger side. Pull the connectors on the pass. side horn and hit the button. If the horn works give the pass side connections a good cleaning and it should do the trick.
