Anyone have any advice on how to re-install the refurbished heater into my 80 MGB. I've tried a few different things but I am having touble wrestling it all into place with the new rubber outlet thing on it.
Thanks

I've read that is a job that nobody likes to do.
I'll bet there are other threads here about it, have you tried searching?

Water based lube on the rubber portion helps. If you have the vapor return running above the heater make sure to move it out of the way. 2 people makes this job easier, 1 to put the box in the other to pull the heater control cable through the firewall. Make sure to cut out more of the rubber in the cable cut out as it may deform when installed and the it may lock up the heater control. Happened to me twice before figuring that one out and it would only do it when all the bolts were in and tight. A plastic bfh is handy and walk away if it's getting the best of you.

Thanks guys....It is in, looks like my replacement rubber defrost tube outlet thing was too big and solid to squeeze into place. I used the one I got from Scott(thanks again...*most* of you heater box is now in the car, I used my old shell) with his old heater box as it was still pretty good. Now I've just gotta get the stupid outlet door cable hooked up.

Doesn't this piece of equipment have a "fantastic" design?!

:savewave: Glad to hear it's working. It helps to have the hands of an 8yr old to connect the cable
