Now that the diff clunk is fixed, it is time to move on to the next item on the project list. The car will pull to the left when you are on the gas, straightening up when you lift off. Which end of the car should I look at? Could it be the bushings in the ends of the leaf springs or..???
 
:iagree: I agree with Stewart. Also but not likely, the left rear brake could be dragging under acceleration due to a bad bearing allowing the axle to move slightly forward and giving the right wheel more freedom.
 
Spring shackle bolts. We've seen some of 'em loose for so long they've worn thru nearly half their diameter and dug into the axle tube.
 
Well, one of the nuts on the ubolts has sheared off so that might explain things. No idea when that happens but a new one has been ordered.
 
Just lurking from the Spridget forum.

My Sprite was exhibiting identical symptoms - pulling to one side when I lifted from the throttle. I was reasonably certain the problem was due to bad a-arm bushings in the front end. Wrong! The rear axle u-bolts were loose.

That was an easy fix. I removed the nuts one at a time and replaced using the existing nuts as well as new lock washers.

There's a lot to be learned by paging through old threads on this forum.
