I have been looking for a GT for a while and this one has come up on locally on Craigslist. Car is a 67 with OD.

I haven't seen it in person yet, but it seems as if the rear seam on the sill looks off.
Here is a close up;

Does this look like a replacement? What can I look for in this area to see if the reapir was done properly?

It looks pretty good. Replacement rocker panels do not have drill holes at the bottom. They have stamped drain slots. The dog leg area looks as it should to me. Bob

It's a '67 w/OD!! If the replacements were done properly, who cares!

Done properly being the important words Tony. I am hoping to look at the car this week.

I'm with Tony and then some... Even if they WEREN'T done to standard, it's a good lookin' (California) '67 with O/D!!!

...and Sandy Beige - a not often seen color.

So, where's the downside?

Nice steel dash GTs are not easy to find.

Do the normal pre-purchase checks (rust; engine; drivetrain, etc.) and go for it if it passes.

Nice lookin' car, I think, WITH OD!

Let us know . . .

Well, I went to look at the car and it seems to be complete - a non runner as carbs are in a box. The rockers don't look too bad and the fit is better in person. Carpet, paint etc is all shot but car appears solid and all there.

One big concern I have is the alignment of the front drivers fender. It ia a little hard to see in these two pics, especailly as the hood is not adjusted. If you push the front of the hood down against the spring so it is flush with the edgeof the passenger side fender and the top of the grille, the drivers fender is almost 1/2 inch lower.

It is a little hard to see but look at the clearance along the top of the front bumber and along the top of the gille - drivers side is low. There is no sign of damage from what I can see underneath. How hard will it be to fix this? Thanks in advance for your input.

From my research and talking with a lot of people it might be possible that the fasteners could be loosened and the fenders realigned.

If that's the only problem & you can't find any sign of accident damage to the inside fender - buy it!

Looks like a classic case of "badge bar impact" to me. Those bars do more damage to the front-end of a B than if they weren't there when someone backs into the car. Looks from the photo that the center grill vertical is bent or broken too.

Get rid of that thing first, then tweaking the bumper back to proper alignment with a dismantling and some exercise with a vice and th' BFH applied to the brackets should get it right.

I have seen some MGB's where there was very little outer body damage and a bent frame. If the front cross member has hit say a raised manhole...Look at the frame rails from the front wheel wells.Turn the tires right and go to the left side of the car and look at the back side of the tire. Then do the opposite to the other side. Damage should show at the area behind the shock at the rear xmember bolt area. Its better to check before you write the check! bob
