The choke on the Blue boy is sorta hanging out of the dash and it doesn't seem to lock. Is there any way to revive the locking action or is it a replace the choke assembly to repair it?
 
There not that expensive. I'd replace it with a new one. Their just a pain in the butt getting the nut on the housing behind the dash, but there are ways. Small hands and a lot of this

Probably a replacement but before you go through the pain buy a new one and just thread the new cable through the old housing. If it works and locks with a slight twist keep the new house on the shelf for when you really have to change it. Until then you can avoid the scrapes and scratches to your wrist and fore arm.

BTW: Just in case, do you know the drill in replacing the housing?

Not up on the drill. This is my first MGB. My TR has solid wire cable and doesn't use a twist lock.
I thought I read somewhere about a wedge that can also be replaced to make the friction lock work.

What's the drill?
 
It's actually a spring clip on the sheath. The "notch" in the shaft is recessed in the "zero" position and is engaged when you twist the knob left or right.
