MGB MGB choke mechanisms

I don't think I'm the dumbest person on earth but trying to figure out the MGB choke mechanism and how to make it work has got me just about ready to commit Hari Kari. What I've got is a 76B that has been converted to dual HS4 carburetors (1969 vintage). I've recently gotten from Vici Brit all new choke mechanisms including the rod, throttle lever, lever & pin assemblies (front and rear), trunnion, and all associated hardware. Previously I had purchased a new "T" replacement cable. In trying to install 've found that the end on the cable which, I believe, is to fit into the trunnion, is about .190" in dia. whereas the trunnion I.D. into which it goes is only a max. of .182 dia. Pretty heavy press fit, I'd say. Is there another cable I should be using (Moss lists one specifically for "approx. 1968-69 whereas Vici Brit doesn't have any specified for 1968-71, only for 1962-67 and 1972-74 for dual carburetors)? But that's only part of the problem.
Can anyone direct me to where I can some information on how this thing (which I realize is not really a choke but only enriches the fuel) connects up with a dual carburetor setup, and especially with the aircleaner bracket for the front carburetor. Somethinh has got to work but I'll be darned if I can envision it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ron

a good place to start is posting a picture of the components under your hood. Most everyone on this site has been there, done that...to some degree. A picture is worth a thousand words, and would save a whole lot of guess work. There are a lot of different types of carbs and choke assemblies...can you post a pic?

Ron,

I have HIFs on my 74B, but don't think they are much different as far as the choke hookup goes. If you think it will help, you are welcome to come over sometime to my garage in Lemoyne and take a look...just email me through the address on my profile and we can pick some times this weekend as I plan to be home for most of it.
