MGB MGB Brake Booster Diagnosis

In a recent post, I told how I had finally discovered where my brake fluid was disappearing to (the brake booster). I pulled the master cylinder today and to no ones surprise the seals in the master were bad. My question is, how can I determine if my booster is still good? Can it be done with the unit still mounted in the car? If it has to be removed, what is the easiest way to get out? It looks like this thing is going to be a PITN to remove.

Depending how long the fluid has been in the booster, will determine if the diaphram is still servicable. To determine this, the booster should be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned. This is a very tedious job, as the booster has a spring in it that, if your not careful, can become a flying missile. You have to hold the two halves from "jumping" apart. I used a locking drill press and two small pieces of plywood, one on top and one on the bottom and with the booster laying down holding pressure on the unit while unlocking the two halves. Thus controling the releasing of the pressure on the spring. The two halves twist apart.
