Anyone own one & use it?

Anyone have one, does not use it and wants to get rid of it?

I would rather look at the front of my car, but it came with a dent right on the nose & I cannot get it fixed right now. I figured a bra covering such a lovley nose is better than looking at an ugly dent.

Dent: "Badge of Honor"!! Wear it with pride. Paint is a "wear item" so when you can paint, fix the "dibbish" and press on. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If you aren't worried about damaging the paint, a bra is okay. But if you put a bra on the car, you'll definitely have to repaint after you take it off.

I have one, bought it thru MOSS 4 years ago. It's never been on my car. I'd like to get half whatever the MOSS price is plus shipping. Or,,,, make an offer and it's yours.
Email me if your interested at ICESWH@COMCAST.NET.

Heading out for a little while,,, I'll check my mail after lunch.

Also,,, Griot's Garage sells a spray-on bra.

The paint is not bad but needs to be done to look real nice so if it rubbed the paint it wouldn't kill me.
The dent is just so ugly and the hood does not fit 100% left to right. Kinda high on 1 side.

The top that ICESWH has might not work. Fair price I could quible over 5 or 10 bucks but I think it is from and RB and won't work on mine.

Once I get her running I will be able to take it to my friends shop & see what he might charge to fix the hood. It's Alum. and not sure if this makes it any tougher.

Plus it is just to the right of the bump at the tip of the bonnet and looks like it might be trouble.

Hey, that's what theAutoist is all about! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

Just chiming in, but I think there ios only one bra sold by MOss, and its for either CB or RB. The opening for the grill is the same size, either model.

I checked the catalog and there are 2.

One for 1962-1974
One for 1974 1/2 to 1980

I do. I have a one-piece that covers the front of the hood, goes around the headlamps, and covers under the bumper. Fits well, works great. No scratches, and in 6 years not a single indication of paint damage. On my trip to Virginia and back I got nailed by a couple of small rocks that got kicked up by a truck - nicked the bra, not the paint - glad I had it!

I also have one on my Miata. The front of the car is perfect, not a hint of a problem. The use of a bra requires some common sense though, don't put a bra on a car and leave it there forever - it needs to be clean (as does the car), and kept that way. With "normal" use I've never had a problem.

Here's the style one I've got - I'd opt for one with the "spoilers" if you have a choice:

Scott - you're the unique person: you take yours off & clean underneath as required (actually, you have to remove yours everytime you open the hood)...most people put them on & forget about them - that's how they get paint damage

With a white interior I bet he does a lot of that cleaning stuff.

I just don't like the way they look. It's like putting plastic on your furniture so it doesn't get worn out. What's the point of buying beautiful, luxurious furniture if you're going to have to look at and sit on plastic anyway? I'd rather see my car in all it's beauty and touch up a couple little nicks if needbe. To me a car bra looks like packing material someone forgot to remove. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif I agree with Steve. Admittedly a bra on Chrome Bumper B doesn’t look as bad as they do on a Rubber Bumper B.

I like your colorizing in the picture scott. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

That's why I usually use that disclaimer - you have to use some common sense! I've seen people leave them on to the point that they wash the car without removing the bra. Makes no sense to me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

I also have mentioned that if anyone decides to use a bra they should watch it carefully for any "flapping". Sometimes they'll loosen up or aren't cinched down very well so the edges or loose wrinkles will flap at high speed. The flapping will damage the paint, especially if anything gets between the bra and the paint. If it flaps, take it off!

Looks like way doesn't it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yikes! Wash the car and leave it on ther huh? Good way to completely destroy paint in no time. Lets see... dried soap, mold, trapped dirt, mildew, what else?

Honestly I would rather look at the front of it but the dent. I'll go home & post a pic.

Well it comes down to what looks good to you. If you like the look of a bra better than a dent then go for it! Just heed the above warnings and keep the paint underneath clean and waxed, never leave a wet bra installed (no jokes please!) and make sure it fits properly (again, thank you!).
