MGB MGB Bodykit

Hi all!

At the risk of being labelled a young dipDoody trying to rice'afie his MGB.

Is there any bodykits for B's out there including sideskirts with rear bars that give a bit more of a lower ground effect?
I know there are sebring quarter panels and front and rears, (I have a front lip of somekind, not sure if its sebring)
If anyone has seen a lowered midget setup for motorkana's, they have really low ground effects pretty much nearly all around. Id love to do something like that to my B.

I cant be the only one out there to consider this... cmon guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
it'd look sooo coool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

BTW, if anyone has that Playboy MGB article, PLEASE PLEASE, Scan and put it on BCF. That will be my desktop wallpaper for like the next year! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think I'm gonna be ill! Ok, now seriously... I don't think any ground effects would look appropriate on a car with classic lines. And it may seriously upset the aerodynamics and stability of the car at higher speeds.

well, just a suggestion - why don't you lower the car a inch or so - makes a HUGE difference. whatever you do, don't get a 'wing' on the back, lol. if lowering your car is not an option, i'm sure you could just cut some sheet metal the way ou want it and have it welded on, or even screw it on underneath some trim, just a non biased suggestion, even though it's not my cup of tea

I like looking at some of the newer cars that have been "kitted out" and stuff too. However, on the B I like the way they look for the most part, but sometimes feel myself wishing it had a slightly more 'masculine' look to them. I guess that's why I really like the bumper kits, hoods, and fender flares that https://www.morspeedperformance.com/ make. Combine the flares and smooth bumpers with wider tires and a lowered stance and the Bs take on an entirely different persona. With older cars like these you'll end up having to custom fab stuff to match what you are looking for. Since I have a rubber bumper B I wouldn't feel bad about swapping my bumpers for the ones that are on the above website.

Swapping rubber bumpers will also take nearly a hundred pounds off the car!

MGBs can look very aggresive. Take this one for example...

I'll not argue that they look very aggressive, but I'm not too much of a fan of the 'bumperless' look. I much prefer the way this looks...

You can buy kits for the "Sebring" look, posted by Steve S. Fender flares and all. I'd give a lowering kit a look, too. Makes a world of difference.

Hmm...

If you're wanting to stick a bunch of body panels on a car, I think you made the wrong choice by having an MGB /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

If you're wanting that soft top "cool dude" feel, I'd suggest you chop the top off of a Fiero or something, and than mod it like every other Fiero owner /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

If you plan on keeping the MGB though, you'll have to fiberglass your own panels. How about some pink neon underglows as well!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF

And what about a 455 BB? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Nunyas,
Is that a C GT? I love C's.

I can't say for sure since it's not my car. I got the image from the website that I linked in a earlier post. They sell replica 'C' hoods. I'm not sure if it's a real C or not. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow!

Here is a blast from the past /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Jarrod took leave of the forum quite a while ago. I think, if I remember, the car was borrowed from someone and he had to give it back.
Would be neet to hear from him again though. He had lots of spunk.

hah it's all good... :p

Jarrod - glead to see you again - do you now have your own MG?

hmmmm... Jarrod hasn't posted to this thread since Oct '04...

Anywho, those are some nifty "body kits" on the spridgetech site...
