Alright, i love both triumph and MGs, which is probably a forbidden act in the world of LBCs. Ive been looking at MGs for a while, and ive seen alot of Bs and B GTs. I have no clue what the difference between the two are, so could someone please explain the difference to me?

To relate the differences in Triumph terms, the BGT is to a B as the GT6 is to a Spitfire, at least as the body styles go.
All of them are basket loads of fun, and that's what it's all about.
Don't feel bad about liking them both. I've got MG's as well as Triumphs, and they haven't run me out of town on a rail yet! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's only body style, with the standard MGB being a convertible and the MGB GT being a hatchback coupe. Otherwise they are identical.

There, now...don't you feel better now that you are OUT of the closet and have admitted your bi-make tendencies? Maybe others will see your courage and admit that they might be at least a little curious about MGs, TRs and maybe even the Big H's or Jags...or get wild with some of the other lesser known marques /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My name is Carl, and I'm bi-makual and tri-curious.
Seriously flirted with a TR250 only the other day. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

OMG you guys are killing me!! I'm laughing too much for Monday... AT WORK!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Hello, my name is ROADSTR6. I go both ways too!

Carl, you tramp!!! Just hope the Mini's don't find out. It could create an ugly international incident. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

the biggest difference besides the hardtop vs. roadster is if your tall like me ( 6'3") the GT has more headroom, a taller windscreen and taller door openings. oh, and they tend to be more watertight. By the way, does medic have anything to do with your profession?

Haha, its a weird story. I really wanted to be a medic for a really long time, because of the whole "saving lives" thing, and i like medicine. But I thought it through, and became a funeral director. Medicman just rolls off the tounge. Are you a medic, or do you save MGBs?

The GT has no mechanical differences than just the normal B?

Hey Medicman!
We've go something in common. I own an MG and a Corvette. Great combination. I had both a GT and a Roadster and there certainly can be an argument for both. THey are the same mechanically, just different personalities with the soft top compared to the hard top. I had a '70 GT and for whatever reason didn't care for it. Others love GT's and prefer the practicality over the roadster. They're both fun to drive and are a good contrast to the Corvette. I would like to own a GT again, but this time I'll go for a "C"! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Medicman55, the only real mechanical differences between a GT and a roadster are the fact that a GT has stiffer front and rear springs to help manage the extra weight. James

See, i love my Corvette. I love it to death, and its an amazing piece of american muscle. THe only thing is that you CANT fix it. When it breaks, i take it to a repair shop, with a British car, you can fix them easily. I really like that about them.
