MGB MGB AC question

I'm interested in putting AC back into my '78 MGB. The evaporator, coil, and dryer are still there(I know I need to change out the dryer). I have the vents and switches. What I need to know is what compressor to use.(Sankyo?
)I've seen other people's set ups and they have attached the compressor to the air pump bracket. What model number compressor do I need?
Thanks
Rick Hansen

Yes!! I'm sure the old York compressor (which I still have) was taken out because it drew too much power. I'm looking for a new low draw rotary compressor. I can't remember the name but I think it'd Sankyo. Does anyone know the model number I need for my car?
Thanks
Rick Hansen

I had an "add on" A/C unit in an old Dodge van and it had a York compressor V-2. It was a great reliable compressor but you are right, it did pull a tremendous load. I had to get extra heavy duty belts that had a steel core to last anytime. It would load down even the V-8 in that van , I could imagine what it would do to an MG.
Sorry I don't know which compressor would be best. Someone will probably read this and be along soon to tell you. There are a few that show up at the local shows with A/C. Perhaps you could talk to one of them.
By the way, thanks for dropping by last week. Enjoyed the visit.
