I'm thinking abour replacing my firing system by an electronic one. Will it be more reliable?
What is the best maintenance manual to buy?
Also, I'm expecting to travel long distance trips this summer. I'd like to get your thoughts about the wind blocker. Is it just a nice to have?
Last one, Is the front grill on the MGB the same size as the midget one?

Pertronix will be a good one.

No objective opinion on the "blocker" from me /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Nope: MGB and Midget grilles are not interchangeable.
 
I saw a review on wind blockers some place and he said that he could lay a peice of paper on the passanger seat and it would stay there.

That said I should think a sun blocker for daytime driveing in the summer would be in order.
 
I love my Windblocker (I actually have 2)!! Jerri says its the bst thing I've done to an MG since she's been married to me!

years ago I was heading to a Jag show up in Newport, three quarters of the way there and wammo, had to drive the chase car all the way back during the middle of the night to get the points.

it was one of those old piranha ignitor boxes /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
 
I have a similar experience as GB1. A friend's Pertronix let him down at Watkins Glen. Worked on it until nearly dark, checking everything 100 times with a volt meter. Fortunately, the points were in the glovebox, and car started first try after being reinstalled.
 
I run dual points in ALL the petrol-power'd cars here: One set inna dizzy, one inna glovebox. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
