Hey just thinking I might need to fit 2 female 18 year old hitchhikers /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif one day inside my coupe not being a purists any thoughts on a smaller wheel instead of the original big wheel ? Also I might get bigger and need to fit in the seat easier is also a thought . I was looking on ebay I see $125 used original wheels and was thinking new old school $200 from VBrit , but I was thinking aftermarket 13 .5 approx wheel . Any pictures or thoughts ? Any one bought a new small wheel lately for MGa ? Thanks in advance Karl

14" Tourist Trophy is what I put in all my cars

A smaller wheel will require slightly more steering effort, mainly at lower speeds. If you're running 165-175 tires, you should be fine.

Being the purist that I am....

I have a well worn original wheel on my A that sorely needs replacement.... A replacement ORIGINAL spoked wheel is in the queue when everthing else is finished....

It just seems to me that a non-original style wheel diminishes the look of the car somewhat. Call me anal or obsessive... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

I have a Moto-Lita wheel in my '66 B that I will replace with an original spoked wheel when I finish that project...

As for the two 18 year old female hitchhikers... The last time an 18 year old female had any interest in me, Lyndon Johnson was President... So, even with sincere innocence on my part, Picking up said hitchhikers could present a rapid visit by 'John Law'...along with extensive proclamations of my innocence...Not to mention the explanations to my wife. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

Just my two cents worth.. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

If you drive it more than show it listen to Tony, if you are concours switch wheels before show for the purists.. Yes, you will get bigger with age unless you are an exercise fanatic, smaller wheel saves dieting. My brother-in-law has a Cobra, has had to diet constantly to stay in it, until he put on a smaller wheel. LBCs are for everyone, make it what you want, do not criticize for individuality, you are the one who has to care for it and pay forward on it's care. All things can be reversed. Especially with todays technology and internet comadre.

& I really don't notice any difference in handling or feel between the original 15" wheel & my 14" MotoLita wheels...but I do have more room & my hands don't hit the stalk switches anymore!
