MGA MGA parts

I am in the process of restoring an MGA. My last project was the refurbishment of my A-H 3000, for which the majority of parts were purchased from Moss & VB. However, for MGA parts, there is also S.F. in R.I. I would be interested to know from any MGA owners their experience with this supplier with respect to quality & service.

Have a good day,
Ed

Tony Barnhill is a member here who has made a lot of members happy customers. Email him when he comes back...I am sure he can hook you up with whatever you need at a great price.

Tony is due back on the 28th.

The question is on part quality, not who to buy them from. Moss typically has good quality parts, but as with Healey parts the quality will vary. VB is similar but many of their parts are sourced from Moss anyway. SF is considered high quality in general and know MGAs well. I don't know where the majority of their parts are sourced but I suspect that they get many of them from Moss also. Things like windshields are best sourced from SF since they are the proper dimensions, unlike the other suppliers.

I have had great success with SF and would recommend them. They do seem to have some parts with different sources.

who is "SF" and "RI"

Scarborough Faire (S.F) is an MGA parts supplier located in Rhode Island (R.I.).

I have had a really bad experiences with S.F.

and would not reccommend them whatsoever..

Inproperly packaged oreders, wrong parts, and then on top of that, obnoxious, arrogant replies about the return., and then they issued a in-store credit.. for wrong parts..

I think I still have in-store credit with them, but, do not wish to take the effort in dealing with them...

Unless the part in totally unavaible, stick with Moss.. even their delivery is so much faster, and I am only one state away...

Good luck

I rebuilt my MGA from a box load of rusted crap. 1998 to 2001. Just about everything came via UPS I mostly used Vicky B, because I had a friend that owned a garage that set up an account I could order from using my credit card. That saved 30%
It is no problem ordering as long as they put your name the list to order. Otherwise you have to use thier name when ordering via phone or fax.
In everything I ordered my only disappointments were the heater control valve from Vicky B.and the Moss Carpet kit
(when you vacume it long nylon strans come out) you have to give the carpet a hair cut, like you have grey dog hair everywhere.
