MGA MGA Chassis Extension

LBC fans of all ages,

I have another query. car: 1957 MGA 1500....

The chassis/front bumper extension assembly on my A is bent. Not enough to prevent installation but enough to prevent the installation of the valence.

I have been trying to bend the mounting posts around to clear the holes in the valence to no avail. I am sure that with enough grunting and sweating I can move them... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

However, I think that this will cause me grief when I try to align the front bumper...

Sooo, the query... should I keep bending or buy a replacement?

If buying a replacement, where do you suggest I purchase it...

Thanks,

They pop up on e-bay from time to time, or Eclectic Motorworks will rebuild it for you.

Keep in mind that even if you get it perfectly straight, it may still not line up perfectly due to imperfections in the frame itself. If you send it for repair or modification, it would be a good idea to make precise measurements and send them along with it.

Steve,

Sagely advice... Thanks... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

David,

I have found a couple on eBay but will wait until one of our esteem GREAT PUMPKINS, Tony Barnhill, returns from Europe to see if he has one to sell... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
